And the Power

Dear Friends: Today, it is our sacred honor to meditate upon God's Power. Certainly, God's Power is life itself, as expressed in all forms and all formlessness, in abstraction as in material realism. In searching scripture, consistently throughout the Bible, God's Power and the Kingdom are tightly interwoven subjects. In searching for the right words to describe it, I came upon this in the Old Testament, and in these words, I realized, Jesus himself must have had this very quote in mind when he taught The Lord's Prayer. I think you will see elements in this which leave no doubt about what Jesus had in mind when formulating the words of His prayer:

1 Chronicles 29:

11Thine, O LORD is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Psalm 145: 11They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;

And, of power, we see that love is raised above fear, for God is love! Though you have been taught by men to fear God, here is the statement which says that Love is far greater. I believe that Jesus' message is that love is far more important, and wherever possible, and in all instances, it should be said "Love the Lord thy God":

2 Timothy 1:

7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Yesterday, we investigated The Kingdom as the first statement of this line, yet we find the two subjects interwoven, Kingdom and Power, yet are these two statements in seeming contradiction until one meditates upon them for a while:

Luke 4:

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
1 Corinthians 4:

20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

So it is made manifestly apparent that the Kingdom of God is in God's Power and that the word of God is moved by God's Power. Thus, God's Power into the Kingdom which moves the word. Yet, one must be clear that the word itself is powerful for:

Psalm 29:

4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

Hebrews 4:

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

And finally, who that power has been given to:

Luke 4:

32 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
Matthew 28:

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

So, today, dear friends, relax and sit back. Close your eyes and center your thoughts and allow the Word to enter the Kingdom Within You by the Power of God. For you are One with God, Whole and Inseparable. Jesus has told you, that the Kingdom of God is within you and there shall you look for your Source of all power. The power of your connectedness, which will never be denied you, the source of your Love which is the basis of all relationship with God who IS Love. God has been and is waiting for you to wake up and accept your true relationship, to remember who and what you are. The Lord's Prayer is Power, made manifest in your participation. So use it and find God in you, just as the Master has said.
